NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Animal shelter staff say New Haven police will be applying for a warrant to arrest the person believed responsible for abandoning a malnourished dog in Edgewood Park earlier this month.

$5K reward offered for info after dog found tied up in New Haven park In a social media post Thursday, officials with the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter said they were able to learn a lot about the dog’s background, including the person who left him, and his real name: Kenobi.
Shelter staff said the 3-year-old Husky/Shepard mix has been eating all his meals, gaining weight, and seems to be in good spirit since being rescued.
He was rescued on Sept. 4, after being found tied to a bench in Edgewood Park.
Desmond’s Army Animal Law Advocates offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for his condition and abandonment.
Leaders with the group said they shared the information they learned with New Haven Animal Control.
