Dead golden retriever found in garbage can; owner sought

(WFSB) | By Rob Polansky | March 18, 2025 | EAST HARTFORD, CT - Animal control officers in East Hartford said they are looking for whoever left a dead dog in a garbage can.

Animal control said the adult male golden retriever was found behind an abandoned Stop & Shop on Silver Lane.

Animal control said a garbage bag was left over the dog.

Desmond’s Army Animal Law Advocates was said to be helping animal control with getting a necropsy done so it can find out what happened to him.
